I'm a fanatic for the original Fender Telecaster Basses, Their first reissue (1951 Precision Bass). Awesome vintage guitar from a very cool period for Fender. I've owned 3 and none of them have disapponted. All 3 had the rare paddle tuners, original single coil pickup, bridge cover, pickup cover and OHSC. The pickguard? That's a different story. All 3 had very early replacements due to the original material that self-destructed. If you didn't replace them quickly, They could make a even bigger mess. These were on the heavy side but extremely resonate even unplugged. Here are some photos of #3 that now resides in Australia owned by a working musician. Anyone else? Share your pictures…

What makes these guitars so great? Is it the wood, the pickup….or something else?
