Hey now! You’re looking at an incredible vintage archtop guitar.
This is a 1940’s Vega Supertron Archtop Electric Guitar, with its original Lifton case.
It weighs 5 lbs 11 oz. 25″ scale, 1.63″ nut width.
The serial number is 36104, dating this to early ’40s, maybe late ’30s.
Extremely rare, and incredibly beautiful. The Supertrons were released along side the Gibson ES-150, and was quite the contender.
Fitting perfectly into the era (late 30’s early 40’s) when big blonde archtop guitars commonly sported highly-figured maple as a sign of quality, and style.
This guitar is truly beautiful. The gorgeous flamed maple is super appealing to the eye, as well as lending every desirable tonal quality you’re looking for in a vintage jazz box, especially paired with the mahogany neck.
Extremely resonant, bright, but not too bright and well rounded.
Grabbing up all this natural delicious tone is the original height adjustable single coil pickup.
The electronics were very unique as well, offering you a 3 way knob for Bass, Normal, and Treble, and a volume control.
The neck is straight, and the frets are clean. It’s an amazing player. Fair share of marks/scratches, some finish wear, and lost its original pickguard along the way. But overall good condition, especially for being 80 years old. Please take a look through all the photos for a better visual description.
All of this beauty is protected by its original Lifton case!
Inside the case, also appears to be the original hang tag, so cool!!!
This is a very rare example of a wonderful guitar, and I hope it goes to the home of someone who can appreciate it forever.
Don’t miss out on getting your hands on a gorgeous vintage jazz box with this Vega Supertron.
Thanks for looking!
