About This Vintage Ad

This is an all original & very early production Pre-CBS Precision Bass w/a great feeling maple neck w/all early features that’s been played for decades by its 1st caretaker. It has its original very faded 2 1/2-Tone Sunburst finish over a very lightweight Alder body & is pencil dated 3/58. Its maple neck is one of the 1st new design w/a larger headstock w/a pencil date from 11/57 & feels fabulous. Its finish is original but its logo appears to be replaced at some time w/a c.1966 logo. It’s sporting a very rare “double stamped” 4-bolt neck plate having its main serial # as usual w/a very rare 2nd stamped serial # on its backside of the same neck plate…this happened infrequently during this mid to late 50’s period. Its original Gold Anodized pickgard is worn in nicely. Its original split P Bass pickup has its early production raised “A” pole pieces & is super smooth w/that quintessential “Jamerson” funk tone ! Its original pot date codes are from the 8th week of 1958. Its worn in so cool from its nickel tuners to its threaded saddle bridge & it appears original in all respects. She’s very good overall with plenty of patina & comes in a late model Tweed Hard Case.
