Everything from the perfect, large profile ’58 neck to the gorgeous “Three Tone Sunburst” finish represent the highest standard of Gibson craftsmanship, while the original “dogear” style p90 pickups and hollow construction make for a versatile instrument equally suited to mellow jazz tones to rauncy, rockabilly and blues sounds. This guitar was owned and played by an artist named “Gene” who in addition to painting his name on the pickguard at one time updated the original “Wraparound trapeze” style tailpiece with a 60’s Gibson trapeze and ABR-1 bridge for better tuning stability.
