“There’s a reason Gibson guitars from the late 50’s are referred to as the “Golden Era” of electric guitars, and this 1958 ES-225 is a great example! Everything from the perfect, large profile ’58 neck to the gorgeous “Three Tone Sunburst” finish represent the highest standard of Gibson craftsmanship, while the original “dogear” style p90 pickups and hollow construction make for a versatile instrument equally suited to mellow jazz tones to rauncy, rockabilly and blues sounds. This guitar was owned and played by an artist named “Gene” who in addition to painting his name on the pickguard at one time updated the original “Wraparound trapeze” style tailpiece with a 60’s Gibson trapeze and ABR-1 bridge for better tuning stability. A phenomenal sounding guitar with a unique history, this would be a great addition to any collection”
