For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1966 Fender Stratocaster.
This clean ’66 Strat is a real treat. It’s mostly original with a couple of modifications: an added string tree and rewound bridge pickup. A previous owner used what looks like permanent marker to color the neck pocket black; we’ve chosen to leave this as-is to avoid sanding down the pocket.
The tone and playability are hardly changed from its pre CBS cousins and it sports the large headstock, a transition decal, a white pickguard and pearl dots that were the significant changes once CBS took over. The gray bottoms pickups are all clearly marked with 1966 dates, these also sound fantastic. The alder body has a lovely sunburst, the fingerboard and frets are also in great shape. The neck is very comfortable and has that feel that makes these guitars the stuff of legends, like slipping your hand into your old baseball mitt.
