About This Vintage Ad

With the evolving taste in popular music in the 1960’s favoring the electric guitar, Martin briefly began producing a small run of electric instruments to meet the demand. Though short lived, these guitars were made with the same craftsmanship and attention to detail that has kept their acoustic guitars the industry gold standard. This beautiful 1966 GT-75 is a first year example with a stunning “Burgundy” finish. It features a pair of DeArmond designed single coil pickups which along with the hollowbody, laminate maple construction and Bigsby tremolo give this instrument a distinctive “Gretsch” flavor, but built to a much higher standard making for an even better playing guitar. Few of these instruments were made between 1966 and 1967 making clean and original ones like this hard to come by! Not just an oddity but a fantastic sounding guitar, the vintage stylings and tone delivered by this 1966 GT-75 far exceed it’s price point!
