Another one from the vault! This is one of the best-sounding Guild’s we’ve encountered. 1967 Guild D40 in natural. These have a unique sound and this is a particularly great D-40. It’s a nice, honest 1960’s Guild dreadnought in very good condition. Comes with the original hardshell case. Original nut and saddle are in the case.
There is some pick wear mainly above the sound hole but nothing too bad. No cracks in the wood. Very hard to find these without repairs. The guitar is all original in the original case.
The top has some EXCEPTIONAL bearclaw-type figuring which is rare. Spruce top, mahogany back and sides, Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard/bridge. The guitar has a very solid mahogany sound that is unique to these.
Some great folk players of the 60’s and 70’s used these. Richie Havens was synonymous with this model and it’s no wonder these are becoming so desirable. Here’s a particularly nice example for your consideration.
