The above description I copied (mostly) from the Thunder Road Guitars PDX listing from five or six years ago. I bought this guitar from the Portland store several years ago. Thunder Road Guitars has stores in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington and in my opinion are among the very best vintage guitar establishments in the world.

About This Vintage Ad

This 1968 Fender Telecaster is the bomb. We rarely see a vintage Telecaster in Dakota Red as this was a custom color for Telecaster models. The original guard has aged to a creamy white and perfectly complements the Dakota Red finish of the body. The body finish has some flaking around the edges and lots of general play wear, but the overall look is killer vintage all the way. This Tele is a strong player as well as a vintage gem. The neck has turned a toasty brown and the comfortable C shape neck makes it an absolute joy to play. The rosewood fingerboard is in fantastic shape. The frets are original and have some wear but are still playing fine.
This guitar is a vintage tone machine. All set up and ready to go. Comes with its original hardshell case in good condition (latches work but there is plenty of cosmetic wear). Serial # 214827. Weight: 7 pounds 10 ounces. Modifications: None
