Just in from the personal collection of Joe Bonamassa! After a few years of being discontinued, Gibson brought back the original Les Paul design in 1968. These Standard and Custom models from this era were built with many of the same features as the 50’s Les Paul instruments; long neck tennons, mahogany bodies, and great playing neck. This 1969 example features a one piece mahogany body with three piece neck, no volute, transitional medium length neck tenon, and an original pair of Patent Number humbucking pickups. With a maple top and resonant mahogany body, this guitar is as close as is gets to a 50’s model!
