Hey now! You’re looking at an iconic guitar.
This is a 1977 Gretsch 7670 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman electric guitar, including its original case.
It weighs 8 lbs 4 oz. The scale length is 25″, and the nut width is 1.70″.
Serial number 6-7041 dates this to 1977.
The Country Gentleman is one of the most incredible guitars to come out of Gretsch.
Featuring a maple hollow design – it has great bottom and and articulation.
Of course, the hollow body provides that cool acoustic resonance.
Grabbing all of that sweet tone are dual FilterTron pickups. These provide incredible character – a favorite of tone chasers everywhere.
Dual Volumes, Master, 3-way pickup selector, and a 3-way tone switch.
The tone switch makes for some amazing sounds. In the center, the tone is bright and articulate, switch over to the right and the high end rolls off a bit, all the way to the left and you get a sweet, dark tone.
Add to all of that – the Bigsby trem system, high mass for great tone transfer. Smooth travel for incredible vibrato effects.
The walnut stain finish, multi-ply binding, beautiful grain patterns, make for a gorgeous appearance.
It’s in good overall condition considering its age. The neck is straight, and the frets are freshly polished.
Beautiful finish checking, some marks/scratches, and a small divot on the ‘B’ string 1st fret. Nothing that effects performance at all!
This is your chance to get your hands on an incredibly stunning Country Gentleman example, a true piece of Gretsch history.
Thanks for looking!
