About This Vintage Ad

Hey now! You’re looking at an incredible, legendary guitar.
This is a 1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom Ebony Electric Guitar.
It weighs 10 lbs 13 oz. 24.75″ scale, 1.70″ nut width.
The real deal! The guitar we’ve all grown up seeing in magazines and on posters.
Classic Gibson mahogany body, maple top, mahogany neck, ebony board, gold hardware.
The near 11 lb weight means that solid midrange chunk is firmly in place.
The tone transfer between the neck and body is amazing, this guitar truly sings. Gorgeous!
Dual Patent etched 1978 stamped PAF humbuckers grab all of that delicious Gibson tone and adds their legendary PAF character.
On the bridge PAF, you get that fantastic warm crunch with the famous Gibson cutting mids.
The neck PAF produces seemingly endless sustain.
This guitar truly is quintessential Gibson in every way from looks, to playability, to tone.
It was just professionally setup – the neck is straight, and the frets are clean. The action is set just about 3/32″ at the 12th fret.
Plenty of vintage mojo here! All the typical playwear you’d expect from a well played 45 year old guitar. There’s some pitting/oxidation on the tuners, bridge/saddles, and stop bar. Though the strings sit well. Marks/scratches, some dings – but there is absolutely nothing that effects the tone or playability at all.
This one is stamped “second” below the serial in a different font. Though it’s hard to tell which cosmetic flaw was from the factory.
Please, carefully look through all of my detailed photos for a better visual description.
Between Very Good/Good condition.
Everything is original to this guitar and dates it properly to 1978 – minus the pickup selector switch tip, and ring (the original ring is cracked and included with the guitar.
The Les Paul Custom is one of the most highly sought after guitar around. As time goes on, they’re becoming harder and harder to find – especially in this condition.
This is your chance to get your hands on a piece of Gibson history with this ’78 LP Custom.
Thanks for looking!
