About This Vintage Ad

Absolutely gorgeous bass owned and played by the legendary Jack Bruce of Cream.

“I’m Thom Barron , in 1980 I was LD for Jack Bruce and Friends. Jack had 2 Arias a fretted and a fretless near the end of the US leg a Spector rep showed up with a fret less Spector that Jack started using right away. He knew I liked the fretless Aria so when we hit NYC where I lived he told me to take it before we shipped the gear to England for next leg. I’ve had it ever since.”

Made by Aria, a Japanese guitar manufacturer, this fretless bass was given to Jack Bruce by the company in 1980. He used it on tour that year and it was featured on the album ‘I’ve Always Wanted to Do This.’  Four string bass with a mahogany body and maple neck, two Aria humbucking pickups and a Gotoh bridge and tuners.
