Here’s an original 1982 Gibson The Ripper bass in original Black finish. This is a beast of a bass, with a monster tone.
One of several Gibson solidbody basses introduced in the ’70s, the the Ripper featured a large Maple body. Makes for a bright, deep and resonant tone.
Neck is straight and plays great all the way up and down without buzz or issue.
Original pickups work great and have thunder tone. Warm and fat and large. Lots of different tones can be achieved between the two pickup combinations and tone knobs.
Bass is in generally excellent condition with minor signs of use and wear. There is belt buckle rash on the back as pictured.
This example even retains those vintage 1980s diamond shaped strap buttons.
Comes with original hardshell case.
