1961 Gibson ES-175D with original PAFs pickups and original case, an incredible example of the perfect jazz-box!!
Up for sale an original vintage Gibson ES-175D from 1961, a premium example of this model from the best era of Gibson manufacturing. It retains all its original part except for the tuners that have been replaced with Kluson Deluxe. The original sunburst finish has a nice dark tobacco brown edge that transitions wonderfully into the golden yellow burst with a slight hint of red in transition.
It is equipped with a factory set of rare nickel cover PAF humbuckers and they sound absolutely amazing: warm, rich and clear tones with a touch-sensitivity that modern pickups can’t replicate.
The guitar is in very good condition overall. It shows some dings and scratches but nothing relevant considering its age. A strap “button” was added at some point in time, you can see it in the pictures.
Original frets from 1 to 15. The last 5 frets have been probably changed at some point in time, but they are now well dressed, it sounds fantastic with no buzzing up and down the fretboard.
No cracks, breaks or repair.
Stunning dark brazilian rosewood fretboard with double parallelogram inlays and binding.
Original rosewood bridge still perfectly intact.
The guitar comes with a 60s Gibson black hardshell case with yellow interior – shows some wear (mainly externally) but all the latches works just fine.
The original finish shows beautiful lacquer checking and some minor nicks and dings. Original pickguard, plastics, pot, electronics and wiring. Everything works as it should.
