Up for sale is my 1973 Gibson Les Paul Custom in black with gold hardware. I’m the third owner of this guitar, and it’s been carefully maintained its whole life. Under 10 pounds, which is what you want from this era. Please review all the photos including the macro photos – if you need more photos, let me know. This is a beautiful, impeccably preserved vintage piece that retains all it’s original equipment (including the fretless wonder frets with binding nibs). The last owners kept a lot of the original paperwork and she lives in her original case. Tone for days!!!
I’m hesitantly listing this guitar for sale because it took forever for me to find an early 70’s Les Paul Custom in black that wasn’t trashed. This guitar remains in very good+ to excellent condition. It’s 50 years old, so it does have some evidence of play over fifty years. No offense to those well-played guitars, but I collect more than I play so I wanted a super clean example I could hold on to for many years. This one was located for me by a well known vintage dealer and we spared no expense acquiring it, including flights and an in-person pick up.
Why sell this? Well, I bought a much more expensive LPC from the 1960’s, so selling this 1973 allows me to recoup a fraction of that money. It will be double boxed for shipping. Shipping will be in the continental USA for $200 and sorry, USA sales only. Please ask all questions in advance and make sure you follow my guitar collection website and on Instagram under the name gilaguitars – lots of cool stuff has been posted and more will be shortly. I don’t update my collection website much but you can also find it under the same name. Thanks for looking.
