Description
Modeled after the original Mastertone banjos of the 1930’s, the Recording King RK-Elite offers players vintage sound and handcrafted construction. Professional components like a classic Mastertone-style tone ring, true steam-bent 3-ply maple rim and nitrocellulose lacquer finish put this banjo in a category by itself. With classic design features like the vintage-style double-cut Recording King peghead and custom Hearts & Flowers-style peghead and fretboard inlay, this banjo proudly carries forward the tradition of one of history’s most revered instrument manufacturers.
Condition
This banjo is used but has been professionally cleaned at our shop. The banjo has been disassembled and all of the hardware buffed with a high powered buffer. The metal looks new. The finish has been waxed and has a nice shine. The frets and fretboard are in great shape and the board has been cleaned and oiled. There are spikes at frets 7 and 9. This banjo is in great shape with a clean original case.
Set Up
This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse. The head is a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90. The banjo has new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and this is a fantastic player. The banjo is set up for easy playing and this banjo is oozing with tone. If you want a lot of bang for not much buck this banjo is for you!!
