Hey now! You’re looking at an amazing vintage guitar.
This is a vintage 1978 Ibanez Artist 2619 Electric Guitar.
It weighs 9 lbs 10 oz, 24.75″ scale, 1.67″ nut width
Introduced in ’76 in the FujiGen factory in Japan.
Featuring a carved maple top with cream multi-binding on a double cutaway mahogany body mated to a set-in maple neck.
22 fret ebony fingerboard with binding and abalone split block position markers.
Also featuring the patent pending VelveTune tuners – beautiful!
The mahogany/maple combo, plus the brass Gibraltar bridge and “tune-o-matic” saddles/brass & bone nut, and a heavy weight that boasts tons of natural resonance, incredible tone transfer, all the midrange push you could wish for, and sustain for days!
Grabbin’ up all this delicious tone are a pair of Super 80 “Flying Finger” pickups.
Each has a tri-sound switch for coil splitting, so you have tons of tonal options here. Very versatile.
This Artist is in great playing condition, truly vintage players grade.
Just setup, the neck is straight and the frets are clean. Tons of vintage mojo here- this guitar has been well played and loved. Several scratches, marks, dings and dents. The body binding is deteriorating in several areas. Please carefully look through all of my detailed photos for a better visual description.
As incredible as it sounds, the Antique Violin finish ties everything together.
This is a rare and highly sought after guitar, don’t miss out on a piece of Ibanez history with this Artist series 2619.
Thanks for looking!
